When I was watching promos for the new shows debuting this fall, there weren’t too many that made it to my ‘maybe’ list, but ABC’s new sitcom ‘Suburgatory‘ did – and after having a chance to view the pilot episode this week, it’ll be on our DVR list for the remainder of the season!
“When single dad George moves 16-year-old daughter Tessa out of their NYC apartment to a house in the suburbs, it’s because he wants a better place for her to spend her teen years. But all Tessa sees is the horror of over-manicured lawns and plastic Franken-moms, on “Suburgatory,” an all-new comedy on ABC.”
I was roped in by the hilarious promos, but hadn’t really investigated the cast on iMDb, as I usually do with any movie or TV show. So, it was a lot of fun to find some of my all-time favorites in this: Jane Levy (‘Shameless’) Jeremy Sisto (for those of you ‘Six Feet Under’ fans – he played Brenda’s crazy brother Billy!), Rex Lee (our favorite assistant Lloyd from ‘Entourage’!), Alan Tudyk (Sandra Bullock’s hilarious rehab-mate in ’28 Days’), Allie Grant (Celia’s daughter on ‘Weeds’), and Cheryl Hines (‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’).
Between the talented cast, the great writing, and hilarious fish-out-of-water premise, you can’t lose with this one!
