Mommy Must Haves-Holiday Movie Classics

Hands down, my two favorite movies of the season are Desk Set and White Christmas, not just for the story line but the fashion as well. This probably has to do with the fact that growing up I was only allowed to watch television on special occasions and then, really only classic movies, the kind shown on AMC or TCM (but that’s another story). Now a day, besides a lack of pop culture knowledge, I still gravitate towards the movies of the 1950’s, losing myself in the zaney comedy and delightful dresses. So in honor of the season and my movie watching, this weeks Mommy Must Have list is inspired by Katherine Hepburn, Rosemary Clooney, Vera Ellen and the stars of the golden age of Hollywood.

With a Little Luxe Wrap

Because the nights can get chilly and it helps to have a faux fur to wrap around your shoulders.

Winter Waltz in Ivory Dress

A lady like dress worthy of dancing the night away under the stars at “the club”.

Manolo Blahnik Black Satin Pumps

A girl can dream can’t she? If I’m going to play Cinderella I want the perfect slippers.

Deco Post Earrings

These sparklers reflect the light in twinkling bursts without screaming for attention.

Floating Island

“The” dessert of the ’50’s I have never actually tried it but think this might just be the year I attempt it. Check out Tuesdays with Dori’s recipe on the Whisk Food Blog if your interest is peeked.

Desk Set and White Christmas

Curl up with your freshly made Floating Island and laugh with Spencer Tracey and Katherine Hepburn as they navigate the Holiday season and office politics. Or sing along with Rosemary Clooney and Bing Crosby as they save an Inn and fall in love.

Natori Pajamas

You can be comfortable and stylish at the same time, just because you are lounging does not mean fashion is out the window.
