What do you need to know about this Recall?
In a news release, the FDA said the sprouts being recalled were sold between Jan. 7, 2012, and Jan. 18, 2012, and have expirations dates between Feb. 1, 2012, and March 15, 2012.The sprouts were sold in stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana in 6 oz. packages with a UPC code of 7546555912. Out of an abundance of caution, Winn-Dixie said it was also recalling the following LEASA-branded sprouts from shelves in all stores:
- 4 ounce Packages of LEASA Broccoli Sprouts – UPC code: 7546555636
- 4 ounce packages of LEASA Gourmet Sprouts – UPC code: 7546555633
- 6 ounce packages of LEASA Spicy Sprouts – UPC code: 7546555635
- 6 ounce packages of LEASA Onion Sprouts – UPC code: 7546555634
As of January 24th, 2012, Winn-Dixie said it has received no reports of illness associated with LEASA branded sprouts consumption.
What should you do if you still have some of these products?
Customers are urged to return the recalled items, or proof of purchase to Winn-Dixie stores for a full refund.
