Many parents right now are feeling unsure about what to share, how much to say, and ways to navigate COVID-19 with their kids, especially since so much is uncertain. Thankfully, CNN and Sesame Street are teaming up for a special town hall this Saturday morning to help children better understand why life is different now due to the coronavirus pandemic. It will cover topics like anxiety, homeschooling, screen time and playdates and will hopefully provide some comfort to young ones and their families.
The ABC’s of COVID-19 will air on Saturday, April 25 at 9 AM ET on CNN. The 90-minute special will feature experts and Sesame Street characters — including Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Rosita and Grover — answering questions submitted by families. Big Bird will join CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta and CNN anchor and national correspondent Erica Hill to moderate the event.
In addition to airing on CNN, CNN International and CNN en Español, The ABC’s of COVID-19 will also stream live (without requiring a cable log-in) on CNN.com and on mobile devices via the CNN app. It can also be viewed on CNNgo on your desktop, mobile, or streaming device.
The ABC’s of COVID-19 builds on Sesame Workshop’s new Caring for Each Other initiative, which provides free content designed to help parents provide comfort and manage anxiety as well as creating routines, fostering playful learning at home, and staying physically and mentally healthy.
