Midseason Series Premiers: New Sitcoms That (We Hope!) Will be Hilarious

Enlisted

Hubba hubba hunk, Geoff Stunz plays Sargent Pete Hill who is stationed at a military base in Florida after returning from his tour in Afghanistan. He spoon learns that leading a squad full of misfits (including his slacker brothers) is the toughest job he’s had to tackle. This light-hearted comedy promises to be full of laughs and the boys aren’t bad to look at either.

Premiers: January 10 on FOX

Us & Them

Based on the hilarious British comedy, Gavin and Stacey, this sweet sitcom stars Alexis Bledel and Jason Ritter as a young couple tasked with the tough job of navigating romance amid their zany families and overprotective friends. Unfortunately, the fate of this show already seems doomed as FOX has been sketchy about announcing the official premier date and has already cut the season from 13 episodes to 7. Give it a chance, big bad network!

Mixology

The entire season of this high-concept comedy plays out over one night in a singles’ bar—brutal in real life, but likely fun to watch from the comfort of your couch. The recently-dumped and mild-mannered Tom is forced by his raucous friends to go out on the prowl and throw himself into the dating pool headfirst. See Tom strike out!

Premiers: February 26 on ABC

Undateable

The great comedic chops of Chris D’Elia are in full effect in this soon-to-air sitcom in which his character attempts to teach his doofy friends how to attract women. The premier date isn’t set yet and we’re still waiting on a trailer, but the concept sounds promising.

Premiers: Not yet set, but stay tuned to NBC to get the word.

There’s no trailer yet, but these funny actors are pretty entertaining as they discuss the show:

About a Boy

Inspired by the Hugh Grant movie of the same title (or more accurately: inspired by the Nick Hornby book that inspired the movie of the same title), this series revolves around the unlikely friendship forged between the charming 11 year old, Marcus and the irresponsible, unemployed, rumpled Will, who lives next door. What we’re looking forward to? Minnie Driver (squee!) plays the tough mom raising Marcus on her own.

Premiers: Not yet set, but stay tuned to NBC to get the word.

Unfortunately, there’s no trailer for this one yet, but we’ll be sure to keep checking for ya! In the meantime, get a refresher on the concept:

Growing Up Fisher

This sitcom, which will premier in the spring, features a family brought closer by divorce. Featuring stellar small-screen stars like Jenna Elfman and J.K. Simmons, this heart-warming comedy with a edgy twist looks look it could be our new favorite show.

Premiers: This spring.
