No-Bake Chocolate Bark Recipe for Valentine’s Day

When Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and you realize you need a quick little gift for your partner (or need something sweet to snack on), this simple Valentine’s Day no-bake chocolate bark should be your go-to choice.

With beautiful white and pink swirls, this chocolate bar-like confection is topped with sprinkles (go with red or pink to stay on theme for Valentine’s Day), mini marshmallows, or pretzels. It’s easier than going out and buying chocolate for your loved ones! Even your kids will enjoy making them for their friends at the school party or for their dad.

If you don’t want uneven pieces of the no-bake chocolate bark, cut them into neat little squares using a knife. Place a sharp knife in hot water for 30 seconds, dry it, and your knife is ready to cut the Valentine’s Day treat. However, allow the blade’s heat to melt a line into the no-bake chocolate bark before you start cutting.

If you don’t have candy melts, you can also use chocolate chips (although they might take a little longer to melt). If you plan to use a regular chocolate bar, combine it with coconut oil to make it harden faster. Combine one tablespoon of coconut oil with one cup of chocolate (adjust per your need) that has been grated or roughly chopped.

Add a few pieces of chocolate bark to a plastic goody bag for a cute Valentine’s Day gift, and tie it with a red or pink ribbon and a heart tag, and your gift is ready. Alternatively, you can store it in a bag to hide in the pantry and keep it all for yourself! The best thing about this chocolate treat is that it will last up to 1 week in an airtight container. You can also leave it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for about one month.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Line a baking tray with parchment paper to make the no-bake chocolate bark.
  2. Place chocolate melts in a glass microwavable bowl and melt them according to package directions until smooth.
  3. Spoon a few small scoops of melted chocolate into two separate bowls. Mix pink food dye into one and red food dye into the other.
  4. Transfer to two separate Ziploc bags. Snip off a corner, ensuring the mouth of the DIY piping bag is not too big.
  5. Spread the remaining melted chocolate onto the lined baking sheet in a rectangular shape, 1⁄4-inch in thickness.
  6. Pipe the pink and red chocolate mix onto the plain white chocolate, using a knife for the swirly pattern.
  7. Let your kids sprinkle pretzel pieces, M&Ms, and heart sprinkles onto the chocolate bark.
  8. Place in the refrigerator for several hours and let it set. Allow it to harden completely before breaking it into pieces with your kids.
