Understanding the ESRB Video Game Rating System

Understanding the Video Game Rating System – A Parent’s Guide

The ESRB rating system is an unbiased, standardized way to help you determine whether a video game is appropriate for your child. In 2004 the ESRB was founded by the Interactive Digital Software Association. The goal of the ESRB is to help inform parents about video games and apps to determine if they are safe for their children.

In additional to helping inform parents about game content the ESRB also teaches parents how to use parental controls and manage children’s game play experience.
