This is Part 2 of a 2 part series. See Part 1 here.
Black Friday. You either love it or you hate it. Those who love it, live for it! They love the crowds, the excitement and the 3 AM wake up call. Those who hate it might stay home, but nowadays even the homebodies are getting in on the action thanks to online Black Friday sales!
Does Black Friday always seem to catch you off guard? This year, I’ve written up a 2 part guide to help you get ready for Black Friday! If you follow these steps, you will be ready and raring to go bright and early that Friday morning (or in some cases, Thanksgiving evening!), grabbing deals left and right and walking out with exactly what you went in for!
SEE Part 1 of this series here.
6. Keep your eyes out for Pre Black Friday good deals. Remember quantities might be limited on Black Friday so catching a deal earlier is not a bad idea. You might be holding out for that advertised “100 blu ray players for just $25!”, but the liklihood of grabbing one of the first 100 is fairly slim. Pay for the $30 one that pops up a week before Black Friday and accept the $5 difference happily (it might mean you don’t have to get up as early on Black Friday!)
7. Grab a trusted friend or relative and plan to divide and conquer. Have a friend of family member that is a die hard Black Friday shopper? Give them your list and have them give you theirs. Agree to grab items for the other with the promise of getting paid back. Be sure to set spending limits. You don’t want to pick up a $50 item only to realize your friend never intended to pay more than $25.
8. Round up a babysitter. The last thing you want to do is drag the kids along to a 3 am wake up call outside the local Toys R Us. Not only that, do you really want them to see all of their gifts? If your spouse is coming with you, get a babysitter early. They might even be willing to spend the night so that they don’t have to wake up at the crack of dawn to meet you at your house!
9. Find out what times the stores you want to visit will open on Black Friday and plan out your route and where you will go first. If Store A opens at 10AM and Store B opens at 4AM, you’ll want to hit Store B long before you head over to Store A. Make sure your route makes sense and be sure you have opening times for all the stores you plan to visit.
10. Get some rest and be sure that you EAT before you go. You might have to run. You will have to walk, a lot. Be sure you are well rested, well hydrated and well fed before you leave the house. Now luckily, most of us will still be stuffed from the prior evening turkey consumption. It’s a good thing to stick a granola bar and a water bottle in your bag anyway.
Finally, remember that Black Friday isn’t the end of the holiday shopping sale season. It’s more of a beggining then an end to be honest! Breathe! And of course, there’s always Cyber Monday!
