You probably face the same dilemma I do every time I head to the party aisle of local chain stores. Their selection is, well, lacking. Especially if you’re trying to throw a party that’s out of the ordinary, like Peppa Pig party, or you’re trying to throw together a theme that you haven’t just seen at the six other birthday parties you’ve taken your kids to in the past month.
As a former wedding and party blogger turned editorial party stylist, let’s just say I know a little something about party supplies. I routinely scour the internet for the perfect party detail, whether it’s at a one-stop party shop or a boutique, handmade Etsy shop. Today I’m spilling my secrets by letting you in on my favorite sources on the web for party supplies, and I promise you will not be disappointed.
A word of warning, though: you may find yourself planning a shindig “just because” by the time you work your way through this slideshow.

The 21 Best Online Party Shops
For Trendy, Fun Supplies: Oh Happy Day
When a prominent party blogger opens a party-supply shop, it's got to be good, right? If you're looking for a one stop shop for the most trendy, fun supplies, Oh Happy Day is my top recommend. The expert curation and styling makes me wish I had an excuse to party every day .
For Unique Pinatas: Prospect Goods
If you really want a party piñata but the idea of one of those licensed ones is making you cringe, head over to Prospect Goods . Their geometric, modern piñatas are a tasteful alternative that can double as fun decor later—assuming the kiddos don't get so excited at the sight of one that they completely obliterate it.
For Bright Cake and Cupcake Decor: Sweetapolita
Rosie from Sweetapolita is the Queen of Cakes, so when she opened her designer sprinkle shop , it had to be good. All of Rosie's sprinkle mixes are expertly coordinated and are sure to help you up your cake decoration game...even if frosting is a challenge for you.
For Tassles and Fringe: Stephanie Shives Studio
This shop has tassels and fringe galore! Stephanie Shives Studio is a great destination for party staples like tassel garlands and tassel garland balloons, but my favorite is actually her range of festive, modern party horns. Anthropologie clearly agrees, since they've carried them online before.
For Cake and Cupcake Toppers: Layer Cake Shop
I'm a big baker, and when it's time to throw a party, you bet that cake is going to be homemade. Whether you're tackling the treats or just looking to put a customized touch on a store bought cake, I highly recommend you hightail it to Layer Cake Shop . They have an awesome collection of sprinkles, toppers, cupcake liners, candles, and more—everything you could ever possibly want to help decorate your party pastries.
For Colorful Tassle Garlands: Glam Fete
Known for tassel garlands with carefully curated, lovely color palettes, Glam Fete is a great source for garlands, cake toppers, and more.
For Edible Cupcake Toppers: Andie's Specialty Sweets
If you want to jazz up your cupcakes with an edible topper, I think you should check out Andie's Specialty Sweets . Her range of candies is so perfectly executed that it is literally art.
For Gorgeous Garlands: Glitter and Grain
Glitter and Grain 's modern, geometric garlands make for an elegant decorative touch for any celebration. I absolutely love their folded triangle garlands.
For Eclectic Party Kits: Shop Sweet Lulu
A perennial favorite, Shop Sweet Lulu has an eclectic assortment of fun and festive party supplies for all occasions. Overwhelmed by options? They now offer expertly curated party kits for several occasions to help you on your way to a rockin' party.
For Felt and Yarn Garlands: Steph Loves Ben
Steph Loves Ben is the place to go to for awesome felt or yarn pom pom garlands. Her color combinations are always on point, and I particularly love her triangle garlands. How amazing does that look all layered like that?
For Custom Cookies: A Cookie Jar
A Cookie Jar is one of the most in-demand cookie shops around, and with their impeccable skills, it's no wonder. These perfectly piped sugar cookies are a must as favors or as accents on your dessert table. Get in early, though—A Cookie Jar books up quickly, and if you need them by a certain date, you'll want to plan accordingly.
For Unexpected Details: Detroit Bannerie
Detroit Bannerie is more known for their collection of festive glitter letter banners, but I actually gravitate more toward their fun and unexpected gold animal cake toppers and birthday candle holders. These unexpected party details are sure to turn heads.
For Color Coordinated Candy: Zurchers
Another great one stop shop, Zurchers has a wide range of party pretties that even includes color coordinated candy.
For the Little Details: The Flair Exchange
Known for their tissue tassel garland kits, The Flair Exchange also has a wide variety of other party details, like coasters, balloons, and—my personal favorite—tissue confetti. I've had the pleasure of using some on a shoot, and they flutter so beautifully through the air.
For On-Trend Goods: Michiemay
One of my favorite indie lines of trendy party goods, Michiemay designs super cute details including garlands, cake toppers, cupcake toppers, confetti poppers, drink stirrers, and more, all with a modern, glamorous edge.
For Sparkly Lolipops: Sweet Caroline Confections
Add Sweet Caroline Confections to your list of possible favors because, you know, everyone really, really, really needs a sparkly lollipop. Did I mention REALLY?
For Unique Pinwheels: Pomtree
While many party shops carry paper fans, the ones handmade by Pomtree are probably my favorite. Instead of card stock paper pinwheels, they are made of tissue so they are light and airy. The only way they get any better is when they're made into a garland. (Yep, they sell those, too!)
For Unique Garlands: Paper Fox LA
While tissue tassel garlands are a popular decor item at this point, I really love Paper Fox LA 's selection of color palettes and their decision to mix shorter and longer tassels for more visual interest. I think the size variations would make these look amazing if they were layered.
For Unique Sweet Treats: Sweeties by Kim
Chocolate covered Oreos have officially rocked my world. Sure, they taste great, but they're not visually interesting...until now. Sweeties by Kim makes the most adorable versions of these tasty treats I've ever seen. Would you judge me if I licked my screen now?
For Simple Pops of Color: Makeshop
Makeshop has long been a favorite of mine. Their simple but stunning sewn paper garlands are the perfect pop of color at any party.
For Supplies and Gifts: The TomKat Studio Shop
Blogger and party stylist Kim from The TomKat Studio put her expertise to great use when she launched her party-supply shop a few years ago. In addition to all of her party-styling staples, she also carries a broad range of gifts, so you can kill two birds with one stone.
