Super Chocolate Sheet Cake with Chocolate Frosting
Cake
Ingredients:
- 1 package devil’s food cake
- 1 package instant chocolate pudding
- 1¼ cup hot water
- ½ cup melted butter
- 3 large eggs + 2 egg yolks
- ½ tsp vanilla
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 13″ x 9″ metal cake pan
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Combine all ingredients, except the chocolate chips, and use an electric mixer to beat the mixture for 1 minute until smooth.
Step 3: Fold in the chocolate chips and pour into the oiled/floured sheet pan.
Step 4: Bake for 35-40 minutes until the top of the cake bounces back to your finger. Allow to cool for 10 minutes on a wire rack.
Frosting
Ingredients:
- 1½ sticks of butter, melted
- ⅔ cup cocoa powder
- ½ cup milk
- 6 cups of confectioner’s sugar
Instructions:
Step 1: In a saucepan over low heat, stir the cocoa and milk into the melted butter until it begins to boil.
Step 2: Cook at a boil for 1 minute, then remove it from the heat and stir in the sugar.
Step 3: Pour the warm frosting over the sheet cake.
