It’s insane how, even though Disney’s Frozen was released in 2013, the Frozen craze is still going strong. I’ll still catch my niece introducing herself to strangers as Elsa. I think it’s safe to say Olaf’s song “In Summer” is my favorite scene in Frozen . Not only is the song catchy, but it is really silly. It’s the perfect inspiration for a kid’s summer birthday party ! Here are some ideas to get you started on your Frozen In Summer birthday party planning.
Check them out in the slideshow.

How to Throw a Frozen "In Summer" Birthday Party
Color palette
Start with a color palette of light blue (for the sky), green (for grass), yellow (for the sun), and white (for Olaf).

Decor
There is no shortage of Frozen branded merchandise and party supplies out there, but for Olaf's "In Summer" theme, also check out the Hawaiian luau section of the party store. Plastic leis, paper honeycomb pineapples and suns, and grass skirts work well for this theme. Decorate with happy, cheerful flowers such as daisies or sunflowers, or colorful large pinwheel lollipops that can double as party favors. Hanging Frozen posters or images of beaches, pools, or palm trees on the wall (with removable tape) make fun photo-ops. Make Olaf "favor bags" with this tutorial , and check Etsy for unique and personalized invitations, such as this one from Kid's Party Printables .

Food
"Do you want to build a snowman...pizza?" A DIY pizza station also serves as an activity to keep little ones busy. Pre-shape three different sizes of pizza dough and arrange from smallest to largest, so it looks like a snowman. Arrange the usual toppings such as sauce, shredded cheese, and pepperoni. Keep black olives and red peppers on hand for snowman eyes and noses. Other ideas include these Olaf quesadillas , melted Olaf ranch dressing dippers , and Olaf banana kabobs .

Drinks
Here's your opportunity to simply serve water and call it "melted snow." But if you want to do something a little more exciting, serve "summer" drinks, such as lemonade or blue fruit punch. Garnish with colorful straws, pineapple slices, and paper umbrellas. You can also buy snowflake shaped ice cube trays on Amazon .

Games
How about a snowball hunt? Purchase large white pom poms from a local craft store or Amazon , and hide them around the house or yard like Easter eggs. Whoever can collect the most wins a prize (or everyone wins a prize)! Other game ideas include: pin the nose on Olaf (printable Olaf here and carrot nose printables here), Frozen bingo , Olaf bowling , and a scavenger hunt using Frozen song lyrics .

Cakes and Desserts
Making a beach-scene cake may be easier than you think. A plain white frosted cake can be transformed with a little blue food coloring mixed with whipped cream topping, and graham cracker crumbs or brown sugar look just like sand. If you don't have the time or skill to make an Olaf out of fondant, a plastic figurine will do just fine. Stick one of the paper umbrellas in the "sand" and you have a perfect Olaf "In Summer" beach cake! A simpler route is to bake or purchase cupcakes and add these cute toppers from Kids Party Printables on Etsy . Other dessert ideas include snowball marshmallow pops and "Frozen hearts ," which are strawberries dipped in white chocolate.
