Report: Nearly 5 Million Graco Strollers Recalled

So far, Graco has received 11 injury reports about these strollers, including both full and partial fingertip amputation. The recall covers the following Graco and Century-branded stroller models: Aspen, Breeze, Capri, Cirrus, Glider, Kite, LiteRider, Sierra, Solara, Sterling, and TravelMate model strollers and Travel Systems.

Graco is asking via its website for parents with the affected strollers to contact the company for a free repair kit that includes hinge covers. The repair kits will be available beginning next month.

Until you have received and installed the hinge covers, consumers still using these strollers are advised to do so with great care, and to be cautious unfolding the stroller. The company warned in their recall notice that users should be sure that the “hinges are firmly locked before placing a child in the stroller, and to immediately remove the child from a stroller that begins to fold in order to keep their fingers away from the side hinge area.”
