Marbleized paper is the gorgeous result of mixing oil with colors and water. You can spend some serious cash on some at the fancy paper store but did you know you can make some yourself?
It’s a really easy (albeit messy) project to do with kids and the results are just beautiful. Keep reading to see how to do it!
Supplies:
- Shallow pan
- Ramekins, one for each color
- Whisk or spoon
- Oil
- Food coloring (liquid is better than gel)
- Paper cut to fit into pan
Add about a T of oil into each ramekin
In each ramekin, add a few squirts of food coloring. You can mix colors to make any combination you’d like
Mix the oil and food coloring together as well as you can (this is where drops are better than gel)
Add a little bit of water, just enough to cover the bottom of the pan and start dropping bits of the colored oil in to make a design.. You can swirl it around with a fork to get a more marbleized look if you want
Let the paper dry overnight in a safe place
