Burlap is an inexpensive way to bring texture to just about anything. Today, I am using it to re-cover a leftover Easter basket from last year’s spoils.
Use it as a funky, stylish Easter basket for an adult, or fill it with the latest picking of wildflowers.
MATERIALS
- Burlap
- Easter Bucket
- Glue Gun
- Iron
- Scissors
INSTRUCTIONS
Cut a piece of burlap the width and height of your bucket, adding about 2 inches to the width
Begin hot-gluing the burlap to the bucket, starting at the top
Continue all the way around until you meet the other side
Cut several strips of burlap 2” wide, the whole length of the fabric
Place on your ironing board
And fold over so the edges are even. Iron a crease right down the middle.
Take one of the pieces and place hot glue right down the center of the crease
Place the glued piece to the bucket, and start to swirl the burlap
Continue until the bucket is covered
I like mine filled with fresh lavender, but I think daisies would be spectacular!
