Yes, sometimes we also eat them for breakfast on the weekends. What can I say, I don’t think there is anything wrong with the occasional chocolate breakfast. Here is how I doctor up my favorite waffle mix to make it a simple chocolate malt waffle. Here I event stacked them with strawberries, but you can do whatever you prefer!
Ingredients:
- 4 cups unbleached flour
- 3 tablespoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt
Make the waffles:
- 1 cup waffle mix
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon malt powder
- 1 egg
- 1 cup 2% milk
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Preparation:
1. Rub the waffle maker with a little bit of butter or cooking spray. Ladle about one cup of the mixture into the hot waffle maker and cook the waffles for about 2 to 3 minutes, or until they are cooked through and crispy.
